Schedule Details

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala/Entebbe to Kibale National Park

Morning Drive: Pick up at 7:00 AM from your hotel or residence. Drive westward through lush tea plantations and charming countryside towns toward Fort Portal.

Lunch & Crater Lakes: Enjoy a hot lunch in Fort Portal town. Afterwards, take a scenic drive to the spectacular Kasenda Crater Lakes region for panoramic views and great photos.

Evening: Arrive at your lodge on the edge of the Kibale forest, check in, and enjoy dinner under the canopy.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest & Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Chimpanzee Tracking: Gather at the Kanyanchu visitor center at 7:30 AM for a briefing. Enter the rainforest with expert UWA rangers to locate habituated wild chimpanzees. Spend an unforgettable hour watching them swing through the canopy, groom, and vocalize.

Bigodi Wetland Walk: After lunch, take a guided community walk through the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary—a haven for 8 primate species and rare birds like the Great Blue Turaco.

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth: Embark on a 2-hour scenic drive south to Queen Elizabeth National Park, crossing the equator line along the way.

Day 3: Sunrise Savannah Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

Sunrise Wildlife Tracking: Set out at 6:30 AM into the Kasenyi plains. Track lions, leopards, massive herds of Cape buffaloes, elephants, and various antelope species.

Kazinga Channel Boat Safari: Return to the lodge for a midday rest and lunch. At 2:00 PM, board a 2-hour boat cruise along the historic Kazinga Channel. Get incredibly close to thousands of wallowing hippos, giant Nile crocodiles, drinking elephants, and a vibrant array of waterbirds.

Day 4: Tree-Climbing Lions of Ishasha & Transfer to Bwindi Forest

Journey to Bwindi: Enjoy an en-route lunch before climbing into the terraced, mist-shrouded Kigezi highlands toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Day 5: The Life-Changing Mountain Gorilla Trekking Experience

The Briefing (7:30 AM): Head to the park headquarters with a packed lunch. Rangers will brief you on forest etiquette and assign you to a habituated gorilla family group.

The Jungle Encounter: Trek into the ancient, steep rainforest. Once found, spend exactly 1 magical hour standing just meters away from a magnificent silverback and his family.

Batwa Cultural Evening: Return to the station for your tracking certificate. Spend your late afternoon listening to traditional folk songs and meeting the indigenous Batwa Pygmy community.

Day 6: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park & Evening Game Drive

Afternoon Arrival: Stop for lunch en route, check into your new lodge, and head out for a late-afternoon game drive to spot herds of elands, topis, impalas, and giraffes.

Day 7: Guided Walking Safari & Return to Kampala/Entebbe
