Bwindi Gorilla Trek & Forest Experience

Morning: Your professional driver-guide will pick you up at 7:00 AM from your residence or hotel. Embark on a scenic drive southwest through the rolling hills of Uganda.

Equator Stopover: Make a stop at the Kayabwe Equator crossing for iconic photos, experiments, and morning snacks.

Lunch Break: Stop in Mbarara town (at Igongo Cultural Center or Agip Motel) for an authentic local lunch.

Afternoon & Evening: Continue the drive through the winding Kigezi terraced hills, arriving at the edge of the ancient rainforest by evening. Check-in, unwind, and enjoy a warm dinner under the canopy.

Briefing (8:00 AM): Head to the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) park headquarters with your packed lunch for a safety briefing and assignment to a habituated gorilla family.

The Trek: Enter the dense highland rainforest alongside experienced rangers. The trek can take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours depending on the gorillas' movements.

The Encounter: Spend a magical 1 hour observing the gentle giants as they feed, play, and groom each other—a truly life-changing wildlife experience.

Evening: Trek back to the station to receive your personalized tracking certificate. Return to the lodge for a relaxed evening and a celebratory dinner.

Batwa Cultural Experience: Dedicate your morning to discovering the rich heritage of the Batwa Pygmies, the original hunter-gatherer keepers of the forest. Indigenous guides will demonstrate historical hunting techniques, wild honey gathering, herbal medicine identification, and perform moving traditional folk songs.

Afternoon Nature Hike: After lunch, enjoy a guided nature walk through the lush forest trails to see stunning waterfalls, exotic birds, and unique plant species, or simply choose to relax at your lodge lodge deck.
